Dear O365 community,
I am here struggling with a question, that has been in my mind for a couple of days.
We are building a taskforce to deploy Office 365 + Office 2013 in our company.
Our company has its headquarter in France, and therefore the tenant will be "physically" located in Europe (Amsterdam and/or Dublin if I am right).
However : we do have 3 offices in China. Today we are not "in the cloud", and most of our "chineese to france and back" traffic goes through a dedicated line 2/2.
As you know there can only be ONE tenant : Microsoft doesn't support any types of "tenants replica" over continents.
The only way for our Chineese colleagues to connect to O365 is therefore to use their internet line, which is a problem. As you might know the traffic going from China to Europe suffers 2 issues :
1 - it systematically goes through the US which really makes the data travelling all over the world to finally arrive in Europe
2 - China filters all the traffic going in and out the country
As a result : having a tenant in Europe, the user experience in China is terribly slow and there is nothing I can think of to improve the situation.
If anyone of you has a similar experience, I would very much appreciate your feedback on how you solved this issue.
However : I already have a trial tenant, and my question is based on the observations that we did in China = it is slow.
For example, it takes 10 minutes to upload a 20MB file (=30K/sec). Downloading a file is not much better with apx 40K/sec.
I would really like to know what internet connection you were using not to get any slow response.
Thanks a lot for your help
